A Fine Mess (Part I)
"Do you think anyone will notice?" asked Mike.
Adam's gaze was fixed on the monstrosity that, earlier, Mike had referred to as genius. It was the kind of genius that only crazed maniacs can imagine.
"You had better hope no one notices. We could get in some serious trouble for even thinking about doing something like this."
Lowering his head, Mike thought of how much he admired Adam for trying to talk him out of the plan at its very inception.
"What are you doing?" Adam continued. "Let's start cleaning up before someone finds us here."
The two lifelong friends took one last look around them before beginning the task of cleaning up the surrounding debris. They filled their backpacks to the point the zippers wouldn't close and left the site of their latest conquest to be found by some unlucky fool.
"If this shows up in the news, just stay cool." Mike reminded him.
Adam reluctantly replied, "Yeah, yeah. I know."
